Robin’s area of expertise is in training (she is a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance), and she creates and delivers workshops on topics such as harassment, communication, teambuilding, and supervisory skills. Robin is also a Certified Professional Coach and provides individual coaching on professional development and communication skills.

Gina Graber is currently employed with the Housing Authority of the County of Kern, as an Administrative Coordinator in the Human Resources Department.  She began working in HR 10 years ago.  Since then, Gina has earned her Human Resources Certificate with Cal State University, Bakersfield, Extended University, and is currently completing a degree in business at Fresno Pacific University.

Carolann Wooton has served as the Administrative Manager at Bethany Services for the past 3 years. Bethany Services, Inc is a local non-profit which manages the Bakersfield Homeless Center and the Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault.  Carolann received her Bachelors in Psychology from University of Phoenix, and in December 2010 received her Professional in Human Resource Management certification.  Carolann is also a veteran of the United States Army where she served for over six years.  She is married and has two boys;  one who is currently on Active Duty in the United States Army, and her youngest son recently enlisted in the Army Reserves.  Carolann enjoys hiking and back country packing with her husband, knitting, and running for hobbies.

Lauren White graduated from CSUB in March 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in General Management. She later went on to complete a Human Resource Management Certification from CSUB in June of 2011. She has worked in the financial services industry since 2003 and has been with Kern Federal Credit Union since 2006.

Anita is currently the Director of Human Resources for the Law Offices of Borton Petrini.  She serves their staff, attorneys and partners in their statewide offices from San Francisco to San Diego, headquartered in Bakersfield.  Anita has over 25 years of experience in HR, Staffing, and Recruiting and also currently serves as a Board Member on the Workforce Investment Board for Kern, Inyo and Mono Counties. She is a 2009 graduate of The Master's College in Organizational Development and is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Counseling at The Master's College.

Lisa is a graduate of U.C. Davis and has been working in human resources for over 20 years.  She's worked in the hospitality industry, entertainment, healthcare, manufacturing and compliance consulting, which is her current role. 

Katy Raytis is an employment law attorney whose practice focuses on employer defense and counseling on issues ranging from wage and hour compliance, harassment, discrimination, termination, etc.  Katy received both her Bachelors and Law Degree from UC Berkeley.

Jerry Pearson is an employment attorney with The Law Offices of Young Wooldridge, LLP. He was born in Torrance, Calif., but grew up in Fresno where he also attended college. He received his bachelor’s degree in history from California State University Fresno and his Juris Doctorate from San Joaquin College of Law, also in Fresno. 

 Jerry specializes in representing management in labor and employment issues and making sure his clients stay in compliance with the State and Federal labor laws. He has successfully defended Kern County employers in wage and hour matters, as well as cases alleging harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination and other labor-related issues before the California State Superior Court, the California Labor Commissioner and the Department of Fair Employment and Housing.

Shanan Mallard is currently employed with The Bakersfield Californian as an Human Resources Advisor, with her main focus being Benefits/401k Administration, Labor relations and Payroll,  compensation and employee relations. She began working in HR approximately 14 years ago. Since then she has earned her Human Resources Certificate with Cal State University, Bakersfield, Extended University and also her Professional in Human Resources Certificate (PHR) from the HR Certification Institute. She has served on the KCSHRM Board as Conference Director for the 2009 and 2010 KCSHRM Symposium in addition to being President-Elect in 2010. Shanan served on the Conference committee for 2 years prior to becoming the Conference Director.
